Q: Your style in one word or phrase?
A: Modern classic – I tend to buy pieces that can stand the test of time and then mix them with selective on trend items. I don’t want to be the girl walking down the street in ripped hem jeans, platform shoes and an over-stylized ruffle shirt with floral embellishments and a cold shoulder. It’s just too much.
Q: Top three wardrobe staples?
A: Specifically for winter – a great pain of skinny jeans, an oversized cozy turtleneck and cute ankle boots
Q: Style icon?
A: Olivia Palermo
Q: Addicted to buying?
A: Drugstore lipstick – lip crayons are my jam
Q: Beauty essentials?
A: Bare Minerals Primetime face primer and eyelid primer, concealer, foundation, and warmth bronzer (been a Bare Minerals loyalist for 10 years!). Murad skincare – their acne spot treatment is killer (because yes, even at 37, pimples still plague me) and their Retinol A cream to combat these damn wrinkles that are starting to creep up.
Q: Store you can always find something in?
A: TJ Maxx, but honestly, I don’t get out to shop much. Stitch Fix and Trunk Club have been my go to for the last 6-8 months.
Q: An item you would love to splurge on if money weren’t a concern?
A: Shoes – if you invest in really good pairs, they will last! I still have four pairs of Tory Burch’s that I bought in 2007!
Q: Most prominent color in wardrobe?
A: Black. That should be obvious.
Q: Fashion pet peeve?
A: I can’t stand floppy, spread collar necks on men’s button downs. Also, men’s dress shirts in “bold” colors that come with a matching tie all wrapped securely in plastic. There are too many affordable, polished options to go this route.
Q: Fashion trend you wish you never followed?
A: Cowl necks – I’ve sworn them off
