Since as far back as I can remember Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been a part of my life. My sister and I were drastically obsessed with the twins during our childhood years. We owned every movie, read every book, played every video game – and I was even a member of their fan club – no shame.
A few years ago my sister and I made a pact that we would live life like the Olsens did in the Bahamas during their film Holiday in the Sun. And, after years and years of begging our parents and implanting in their brains that we would get to the Bahamas it’s finally happening. In less then two months we will be traveling, lounging and exploring like Madison and Alex did in 2001 – hopefully no nights spent in jail or yacht stealing for us.
So, today we had our first Bahamas shopping trip. What is necessary for a spring break trip to Atlantis? New bathing suits! Target is having an amazing sale on swim separates that we hit up today. I purchased a top and am just looking for a matching bottom. Here are a few of my favorites, all available online. Check it out!
Braided Mesh Necklace
Faceted Stone & Stud Necklace
Faceted Metal & Rope Necklace
In the past I haven’t been a big jewelry person. I would put stud earrings in and usually pick the same chain link necklace for most outfits. Lately though, I have been expanding my jewelry collection. I now have my Fossil watch I link on my wrist everyday and now on my list of must haves are statement necklaces. I scored a great necklace from H&M earlier this season and it seems to make it into an outfit at least once a week.
This weekend though I added another to my collection – the Faceted Stone & Stud Necklace from Express. Everything was 40% off so it was priced for a bargain. I love the blue and charcoal colors because I know it will go with so many elements in my closet. (I also plan on wearing it to my work Christmas party this Friday)
I’m hoping to reinstate Wardrobe Wednesday after the holidays. I just couldn’t seem to find the time this past semester to take the photos. BUT, no need to worry because I’m going to try my hardest to bring it back. Then, you’ll be able to see the new and improved Ellen outfits – including statement jewelry!
I am in DESPERATE need of a good party dress. I have a little over a month to score a swoon-worthy dress for a company Christmas party. This is not just any holiday party though. The guys rent tuxes and the gals call it their grown up prom. So basically I have a month to find a prom dress, if you think about it. Needless to say I’m panicking – or I was.
I don’t know how it took me so long but I read and browsed through Rent the Runway. This is such a great idea! Browse designer dresses, pick a date and zip code and they’ll send you the designer dress of your choice (in 2 sizes) for a MAJOR discount. If you haven’t checked this site out I suggest you do, ASAP. This would be a great idea for any holiday gathering.
These are my top three picks of the moment:
Anna Sui Milly Pency
Retail: $249 Rent: $50 Retail: $395 Rent: $50 Retail: $475 Rent: $75
I finally did it. I finally found a pair of jeggings that look good on me! It took about 12 years, or so it seems. A spur of the moment shopping trip lead me to these maroon knit jeggings from American Eagle Outfitters. I cannot wait to break them in this week. Now, what I am in search of are the perfect accessories to go with the pant. Here are some options I have been eyeing up.
Anthropologie, $68 Bauble Bar, $42 H&M, $79.95
On of my favorite fall accessories is the infinity scarf. Just over the past year or so I probably collected over ten prints and patterns because I am just obsessed. They work for so many different occasions and weather patterns. These Valley girls pulled this trend in through the fall and into the winter seasons. I even rock this style in the spring.
I suggest stocking up now on some styles to vary throughout the fall. Pretty much every retail store known to man offers a few different styles and patterns so run out now and find one that fits your wardrobe. Start simple with a plain pattern or if you’re feeling dangerous or more experienced go for a bold print. Here are some Anthropologie offers.
Ombre Lace Infinity, $68 Zephra Infinity, $38 Balneario Scarf, $48
